Misty Park
Sunny Hill was blanketed with mist and heavy dew early this morning. A gang of 23 Magpies were chattering loudly on the hill and at least 10 Jays were scolding around the park. Meadow Pipits could be heard ‘seeping’ overhead and my first Skylark of the autumn also flew south. The sun soon burned off the mist to reveal a warm blue sky and before long Speckled Woods, Red Admirals and Migrant Hawkers were buzzing around. From the top: various trees in the mist, spiders web with dew, horse chestnut zoom, Wood Pigeon in flight feather on grave, & angel zoom.

Northern (London) Lights
Nice sunset this evening so I walked through Sunny Hill Park. Good start with a Hummingbird Hawk-Moth followed by a new patch tick – Little Owl! With autumn approaching the nights are drawing in. Looking north towards the start of the M1 motorway I saw some potential for some light shots. These photographs are unmanipulated and straight from the camera – just playing around with the manual zoom and slow shutter speeds. Long-winged Coneheads were still stridulating in the long grass after dark.
